"Shut down and Shut up"

By: Bascomb Biggers

Down in Nankipooh we used to say that if you can't do nothin right, then it might be better if you did nothin at all.  So, since I been thinkin about this idea of shuttin the government down, it starts to look better all the time.  When you look at the mess them Skunks and Polecats up in DC have got the country in, you might figure that its better for them to shut things down and go on home, and stay there.

Of course part of the problem is that even if they shut down and go home, they still won't shut up.  They been yammerin at each other for years now, and about the only thing they can agree on is how much they hate each other.  Also the only thing they both seem to do is try to blame the other side for everything.  If I have told you once, I have told you a dozen times, that there are only three things a professional politician really cares about.  Those are getting elected, getting all the money they can out of the people, and usin that money to get re-elected.

A few years back, my cousin Will had two hogs that was always fightin and keepin a ruckus goin on down at the pig pen.  One day Will had had enough, so he had himself a great big barbecue and invited all of the folks in Nankipooh to come over and have some homemade barbecued pork.  Maybe its about time for the folks in this country to get a barrel of moppin sauce and head on up to DC and set up a barbecue supper on the grounds.  At least things would be a lot quieter, not havin to listen to the Skunks and the Polecats blamin one another for the mess they done made.
