  • Who: The Hope-Hill Foundation is directed by a team of volunteer community members to supply additional resources to the school to help provide these children with the education necessary to overcome these obstacles. The Foundation assists Hope-Hill by subsidizing after-school tutorials where students can get the extra academic assistance they need to prepare for middle school. Funds are used to pay teachers as well as to provide bus transportation home after normal school hours. We leverage our financial subsidy with volunteers who can assist the teachers at the tutorials and thereby help more students. Last year, thanks to the leadership of Principal Maureen Wheeler and her dedicated teachers and staff, Hope-Hill was the most improved school in the entire Atlanta Public Schools district.
