DeKalb Plane Crash Due To Engine Problems; 2 Injured
The pilot and a student were injured in the crash Thursday afternoon.

CHAMBLEE, GA — A pilot and a student were hospitalized Thursday after a plane crashed at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport, DeKalb County officials said.
The crash happened around 2:30 p.m., when a single-engine Piper-28 tried to depart but lost power and crashed into a grassy area near the airport, officials said.
The plane was being used for training and experienced engine problems, officials said.

No people, vehicles or buildings were hit by the plane, officials said.
The Federal Flight Standards District Office will be investigating the accident.
