5-Year-Old Girl Struck by Stray Bullet in DeKalb Apartment
Late Sunday night incident occurred at the Highland East Atlanta apartments on Flat Shoals Road.
A 5-year-old girl was struck in the shoulder late Sunday night by a stray bullet that entered through a window of her family’s DeKalb County apartment.
According to WSB, the girl was not the intended target as the shooting was sparked by an argument between at least two individuals in the parking lot of the Highland East Atlanta apartments located at 2051 Flat Shoals Road.
Patch has reached out to the DeKalb County Police Department and is awaiting further details on the shooting.

According to the news outlet, the argument escalated into a “shootout” that resulted in the girl being hit. She was taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston and is expected to be OK.
Police are looking for the suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
