9th Annual Walk of HEROes

The DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) and Brighter DeKalb Foundation host the 9th Annual Walk of HEROes with a focus on “Helping to Enable Recovery and Opportunity.” The Walk of HEROes is an annual 5k honoring those battling developmental disabilities and behavioral health illnesses as well as a major fundraiser for the Brighter DeKalb Foundation, a nonprofit founded by the DeKalb CSB. The Walk of HEROes hosts festivities including the 5k, awards ceremonies, vendors, face painting, a costume contest and more.

DeKalb CSB is a public, nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of evidence-based behavioral health and developmental disability services. Through more than 20 locations across DeKalb County, DeKalb CSB serves more than 10,000 children, adolescents and adults annually to help them recover and resume productive lives. DeKalb CSB employs more than 500 staff, and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

The funds raised support the services provided by the DeKalb Community Service Board to those underinsured and uninsured in the DeKalb community. Last year, the DeKalb CSB provided services to more than 10,000 individuals in the community who otherwise would have gone without necessary and often lifesaving help.

The walk will be held in Downtown Decatur Square on September 19, 2015 at 8 AM. Come out and support a great cause!
