The ART PAPERS 17th Annual Art Auction takes place this month and welcomes an array of established and emerging artists whose works will be up for bid during one groovy evening with a 70s theme in commemoration of the organization’s founding in 1976. ART PAPERS is thrilled to announce a select few of the more than 250 artists participating this year. Attendees will find works from local award-winning artists like Radcliffe Bailey, Bethany Collins, Sheila Pree Bright, Sarah Emerson and Bojana Ginn. Other Atlanta artists include Paul Stephen Benjamin, Douglas Stratton, Lucinda Bunnen, Justin Rabideau, Myott, Katherine Taylor and Nancy Floyd. ART PAPERS also draws works from recognized national artists, so attendees can expect to vie for works from Roe Ethridge, Kalup Linzy, Amy Pleasant, Michael Scoggins and Kahlil Joseph, among many others.
The bidding for collection-worthy works from these artists and many more will now take place during one night only, and ART PAPERS has added mobile bidding via 501 Auctions to spice things up even more. The VIP Preview runs from 6-8 p.m., with the doors opening to the Art Auction + Party at 8 p.m., and the fun doesn’t stop until 11 p.m.
During the Art Auction, Rare Form DJ Timothy S. DeGroot will set the party vibe and pay homage to ART PAPERS’ 70s roots. Guests can boogie into the throwback photo booth, and emcees Jaye Lish and Edie Cheezburger bring the glam and the disco.
