Atlanta Police Investigating Kirkwood Shooting

A man was shot in the abdomen late Saturday morning in the 1800 block of Memorial Drive following an argument with five men, police said.

The victim, who was with his brother when the shooting occurred, was shot twice at around 11:30 a.m. following a quarrel with the five men.

The shooting victim was taken to a Grady Memorial Hospital in critical but stable condition, police said.

A witness told police the five men fled to an adjacent apartment building. Officials obtained a warrant to search a particular unit but found none of the suspected shooters. Police did find an undisclosed amount of drugs and a .45 caliber handgun in the the attic of the apartment.

The investigation continues.
