Atlanta Police Seek Taxicab Carjackers Who Beat Up Livery Driver

Atlanta police are looking for three men suspected of carjacking and beating a cab driver in Downtown Saturday afternoon.

The driver, who was hospitalized with injuries to the head, told police he picked up the three men at the Omni Hotel on Centennial Olympic Park Dr. at about 12:30 Saturday.

The three attacked him at some point, seized control of the vehicle and put him out of the taxi at Northside Drive and North Avenue in West Midtown and drove off, said John Chafee, a spokesman with the Atlanta Police Department.

Police recovered the taxi not long after near North Avenue and State Street.
