Carter Continues Steady Growth, Promotes Seven Team Members
Established team of professionals to provide real estate management expertise, investment analysis and more.

Carter, one of the country’s leading real estate investment, development and advisory firms, today announced the promotions of Matt Delicata to vice president; Renee Carter to senior property manager; Lindsey Cottingham to senior project manager; Jacole Todd to human resources director; Michael Benton to director of information technology; Jack Dellecker to senior development associate; and Lauren Guilbeau to human resources coordinator.
“We are excited for the opportunity to promote these seven hard-working and deserving individuals, who share the ability to understand our business and make contributions at a high level,” said Scott Taylor, president of Carter. “Carter is fortunate to have Matt, Renee, Lindsey, Jacole, Michael, Jack and Lauren on our team and playing such a big role in our future.”
Delicata, vice president, will focus on identifying, underwriting and due diligence for prospective investments. In his prior role as director, he provided analysis on opportunistic real estate investments. Before joining Carter’s investment team in 2012, Delicata focused on underwriting prospective investments for Triangle Equities, a real estate development firm based in New York City. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, an MBA from American University, and an advance certificate with a concentration in real estate finance and investment from New York University.

Renee Carter, senior property manager, will oversee operations and management of a 29-building nationwide portfolio of data centers and medical office buildings valued at $663M. Prior to joining Carter, Renee worked for Tishman Speyer Properties, where she monitored compliance of accounting and operational procedures and prepared annual budgets for Interstate North Office Park, an 11-building office park in Atlanta. She holds a BS in economics from Florida State University, an MBA in finance from the Keller Graduate School of Management, and is currently pursuing a real property administrator (RPA) designation from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).
Cottingham, senior project manager, will be responsible for monitoring design and construction for a variety of projects for educational institutions. Prior to joining Carter’s education group, Cottingham worked with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), ensuring designs met organizational requirements and maintaining cost, schedule and quality goals. She is a licensed Professional Structural Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional, and holds a BS and MS in civil engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Todd, human resources director, will lead human resource strategy and delivery for Carter, providing direction on organizational development and management. She had served as human resources manager since 2012. Before joining Carter’s human resources department in 2006, Todd worked in the service, banking and non-profit industries. She earned a BS in psychology from Georgia Southern University and an MS in human resource management from Troy State University.
Benton, director of information technology, will oversee day-to-day IT operations at Carter as well as the strategic planning for the company’s IT infrastructure and services. Since joining the firm in 2006, he has served Carter as database and system administrator. Prior to Carter, Benton was a senior accountant with Place Properties. He holds a BS in accounting from Kennesaw State University.
Dellecker, senior development associate, joined Carter’s development team in early 2014 as an intern. In his new role, he will provide comprehensive market analysis and thorough underwriting to assist Carter in the acquisition of all asset classes within Carter’s portfolio. In his previous role as research analyst for Granite Properties, he conducted analyses of Atlanta submarkets to assist in acquisitions of office property deals. Dellecker holds bachelor’s degrees in finance and history from the University of Florida, and an MBA from Emory University Goizueta Business School.
Guilbeau, human resources coordinator, will be responsible for administration and support for all human resources department programs, including recruiting, associate communications, state and federal compliance, and more. Prior to Carter, Guilbeau worked at Systemax as a human resources assistant, where she coordinated recruiting and onboarding processes for the company. She earned a bachelor’s in sociology with a minor in English from the University of Georgia.
