Coan, M.L. King Middle Schools Receive $25K Grant Funding

The funding will benefit 934 students, parents and teachers at Kirkwood’s Coan Middle School and M.L. King Middle School in Grant Park, enabling them to participate in CFY's Digital Learning Program.

CFY's program helps school communities leverage digital learning to increase student engagement, help teachers personalize instruction, strengthen the home learning environment, and increase parental involvement.

Through CFY's online learning platform, PowerMyLearning.org, students, teachers, and parents can easily find and use digital learning activities with a key focus on science, technology, engineering and math.

CFY‐Atlanta was one of three area non-profit organizations that were awarded grants as part of Sprint’s Atlanta Local Giving Program. The others were HealthMPowers, which was awarded a $15,000 grant to support distance learning technology to expand its Student Health Advocate Program; and the Southeastern Horticultural Society, which was awarded a $10,000 grant for a Digital Outdoor Classroom.

Funding for the Sprint Project Connect program is provided through a charitable phone-recycling program through which customers and non-customers can donate their no-longer-used wireless devices with net proceeds benefiting youth technology programs.
