View more mention is defintly in order...recently my computer of many years began to have mature moments. i called the "windows doctor" Steve Whiteman 404 627-3120. after a careful examination and a number different diagnostics, his professinal opinion was to replace it. the repalement works fabulously! that was part one: part two; is about my external hard drive which is where the back-up docs are automatically saved at least once a day. it stopped operating properly, once again i called the "windows doctor"404 627-3120 and he was available in a short period of time. he used a different type of diagnostics just to make sure the drive had not been fried with the spikes in power, temporary power outages, etc. the results came back extremly positive. the info on the drive had not been lost, the drive worked fine all data was intact. the problem was the case and the relays that acually protected the data. good for me, bad for the drive case and relays. at this pint the "windows doctor"404 627-3120 gave me a number of options: 1) repalce the case and relays which could be done on-line for a small fee. 2) look on-line for new external hard drives even though the new computer has 150 gb of hard drive. 3) simply replace the the hard drive from a local (edgewood ) store.. i succumed to let's get this overwith. Mr. whiteman 404 627-3120 took me to best buy and between my budget and what was availabe we found a new drive that's a TB. the rest is history Mr whiteman had the techno to transfer the data from the old external to the new one in seems to me a short peroid of time considering the amount of data on the old external.that's my story and i'm sticking to it! i can't let an opportunity to pass with out having an opinion: mine is;that if have you a laptop or desktop find some form of external back up, either on or off site it could save problems in the future. the recent increase in crime in our neighborhood is just another reason to protect as much of our privacy as possible.
