Cyclorama Hosts Lecture About Abraham Lincoln And Emancipation On Feb 12

Free lecture and Q&A with William and Jane Ann Moore about their new book, Collaborators for Emancipation, on January 12 at Cyclorama

The public is invited to a FREE lecture and Q&A with authors William and Jane Ann Moore about their new book, Collaborations for Emancipation: Abraham Lincoln and Owen Lovejoy. The event will take place on Thursday, February 12th beginning at 7 pm.

The age-old adage ”politics makes strange bedfellows” was a true during the Civil War as it is today. President Lincoln often sought advice from Owen Lovejoy, a radical abolitionist, Congregational Church minister and attorney. The book Collaborations for Emancipation retraces the journey from casual acquaintance to abiding friendship between President Lincoln and Reverend Lovejoy and how their relationship impacted politics of the day. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the Cyclorama bookstore.

This event is part of an ongoing series of programs in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.
