UPDATED: Police Find, Arrest, Alleged DeKalb Cop Shooter

Michael Hughey, the 37-year-old whom they identified as the man wanted in the Tuesday night shooting of Officer Deron Fulton was arrested in Stockbridge Thursday.

A confidential tip led police to a hotel, CBS Atlanta 46 reported. Hughey is in the DeKalb County Jail.

The shooting occured in the 2200 block of Bouldercrest Road, the Journal-Constitution reported.

Hughey allegedly shot the 24-year-old police officer following a traffic stop while he attempted to make an arrest, the newspaper said.

Fulton suffered a gunshot to the shoulder and later released from the hospital after treatment.

A slew of local and federal agencies pooled resources to find Hughey, who was considered armed and dangerous.
