East Atlanta Crime Report

Incidents reported in the week ended June 18

The East Atlanta Security Patrol reported the following crimes:

  • A 38-year-old man said an acquaintance pulled a handgun on him in the 700 block of Moreland Avenue around 6 p.m. on June 16 when the two got into a disagreement over tire rims and money the victim said was his. The suspect fled.
  • Thieves broke into a house in the 900 block of Hilburn Drive SE between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. June 15 through the rear window of the home. The crooks made off with a laptop, Wii game and jewelry.
  • A day earlier, someone broke in through the side door of a home in the 700 block of Maynard Terrace SE sometime between 7:25 a.m. and 7:03 p.m. The victim said shoes, a camera, two flat screen televisions and an iPad were taken. Later that evening, someone broke the rear window of a home in the 1800 block of Piper Circle SE between 11:30 p.m. and 11:38 p.m. The homeowner told police the burglar moved a television but that nothing was taken.
  • An Atlanta man reported his 2006 Ford Expedition was stolen in the 800 block of Flat Shoals Avenue between 12:01 June 13 and 7 p.m June 14 from the parking area of a barber shop where he left it.
  • A Marietta man said he parked his Mini Cooper in the 900 block of Bouldercrest Road June 12 but it was stolen sometime between 1 a.m. and 1250 p.m.
  • The stolen air conditioning unit trend continues. In the 1600 block of Jobeth Avenue SE between 11 a.m and 6:30 p.m. someone stole an air conditioning unit.
