Join fellow East Lake, Edgewood, Kirkwood and area bicyclists as we ride to the Capitol today in support of better cycling conditions in Georgia. More than 1,000 riders will converge on the State capitol from a variety of starting points in the metro area.
The Kirkwood/Decatur contingent will meet between 10:00am and 10:30am in the north parking lot of the East Lake MARTA rail station and depart at approximately 10:45am.
The ride will be a police escorted group ride of 5 miles length one-way, with some rolling hills and a slow pace. Helmets are required. The route map is available at:

Among the items being supported are the “Three Foot Minimum Safe Passing” bill HB 180, the "Better Bicycling Bill" HB 101 to clean up outdated bicycle issues, and to raise awareness of the benefits of bicycling as an important form of transportation, a beneficial economic development and tourism tool, an excellent way to maintain health and fitness, and a great sport and family activity.
