GROW! on the Green

Kirkwood United Church of Christ invites you to "GROW! on the Green," during which we'll share in a picnic-style dinner composed of locally sourced meats and vegetables and watch a screening of the documentary "GROW!" under the stars.

"GROW!" is a documentary that takes a look at a new generation of sustainable farmers through the eyes, hearts and minds of 20 passionate young growers. Filmed on 12 farms throughout Georgia during an entire growing season, "GROW!" provides an honest and inspiring look at this next generation of farmers. The producers of the documentary, Christine Anthony and Owen Masterson, will be in attendance and will lead a short Q and A after the screening.

Dinner will be served at 7:30pm.  We'll have locally sourced, grass-fed beef burgers and local veggie burgers, locally grown potato salad, other side dishes and sodas.  The proceeds will benefit KUCC's community garden and Soup Saturday, in which we serve the hungry in our community as part of our outreach ministry.  BYOB (It is Friday night, after all.)   BYOD (Dinnerware, non-disposable, if you able - we'd like to keep this event as green as we can!  We also will have dinnerware on hand.)  BYOS (Seat - or blanket. We'll sit behind the church building and watch under the stars!)
