Sarah Vowell, well-known and loved on NPR's "This American Life," is coming to Atlanta to share her latest work, "Unfamiliar Fishes," which highlights the American annexing of Hawaii in 1989. With her usual bright and hilarious observations, Vowell brings to light the realities of the imperialistic expansion including the Hawaii's colorful leaders, incest, prostitutes, Bible-thumpers, con-men, crotchety sailors and even a coup d'etat led by the descendants of Christian missionaries who overthrew the Hawaiian Queen Liliuokalani.
