Tuesday:

The East Atlanta Community Association's monthly meeting is at 7 p.m. tonight at Branan Towers, 1200 Glenwood Ave.

Dine out for Pat Apoian. Atlanta Police Inv. Patrick Apoian was recently hit by a car being driven by a suspect he was questioning. While the department will pay for his medical leave and hospital bills he and his family need help to replace the lost income they will suffer from his extra part-time job. The Universal Joint and Steinbeck's (659 East Lake Drive, Decatur), both in Oakhurst Village, will donate 15 percent of total sales to Officer Pat and his family.

The DeKalb County Fire Department and Police Department are raising funds for the 9/11 memorial that will be erected at DeKalb Fire and Police Headquarters in Tucker at 1950 and 1960 West Exchange Place. DeKalb County Firefighter Doug Harms, who is spearheading the project, and sculptor, Curtis J. Miller, will display the main centerpiece of the 9/ 11 monument, at The Glenwood in East Atlanta
Village. Miller's design is a steel Phoenix wing that will rise from the piece of steel, symbolizing America's resolve in the wake of the attacks on our country. All proceeds from Thurdsday's benefit will go toward the DeKalb 9/11 Memorial Project. The event goes from noon to 9 p.m.

Help thy neighbor. The Neighbor in Need initiative is a grassroots, relationship-based, block-by-block effort to complete emergency home repairs for East Atlanta neighbors. Members will meet at the at 7 p.m. NIN is in need of contractors, primarily electricians, plumbers and carpenters.

Saturday:

Don't blush, it's improv. 's longest running improv show — TheatreSports - Improv Competition — starts at 10:30 p.m. This show is not appropriate for anyone not old enough to experience adult humor...or anyone that just doesn't like it.
