Friends & Neighbors To "Mob" Sugar-Coated Radical Feb. 26
Goal: Boost sales to make up for robbery.

Friends and neighbors are rallying around Taria Camerino, the owner of Old Fourth Ward's Sugar-Coated Radical, who was robbed in the early morning hours of Feb. 23.
The "cash mob" of the sweets and confectionery shop — Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 108 Howell St. — is designed to bring enough sales to replace the $400 Camerino was forced to give up in the 6:15 a.m. robbery.
Cash mobs are designed to get customers to spend money at locally-owned businesses.

Looking to protect her family, whom the robber threatened to kill, Camerino convinced him to go to her shop, which is on the ground floor of the building at Irwin and Howell streets.
