Goalie named to top 20 college players to watch

Georgia State soccer goalkeeper Vincent Foermer was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Top 20 "College Players to Watch."

Froermer, who is a junior, 3-1 for the season with 11 saves and two shutouts.

The only goalkeeper named to the list, the honor comes as he was named to the the Preseason Al-CAA team earlier this year.

Foermer was named to the All-CAA second team in 2010, led the league with 84 saves and notched a 1.43 GAA and four shutouts in 17 starts. He also ranked 21st in the country in saves per game (4.94) last season.

At Georgia State he currently ranks second all-time in school history in career goals against average (1.43), sixth in career saves (170) and sixth in career shutouts (eight).

TopDrawerSoccer.com's rankings are based on previous accolades, current season performance and the feedback of informed observers all over the country. The rankings will also be replaced with a comprehensive, season-ending version in December.

The Georgia State men’s soccer team continues CAA play with a home match against Hofstra on Saturday at 1p.m.
