Why Go?: This is a Cabbagetown tradition centered on a cook-off of some of the best chili you'll sample this side of the Rio Grande. It starts off with an 8 a.m. 5K followed by the festival, which starts at 11. The chili tasting starts at 12:30

Why Go?: The Atlanta Police Athletic League, which matches police officers with youngsters — mostly through sports — to provide guidance and mentoring, presents the 2011 Mayor's Cup. Come see amateur boxing matches, including an exhibition match between the Atlanta Police and Fire Rescue Departments.

Where/When: 935 Wylie St. SE (On the Atlanta BeltLine), 6:30 p.m., Saturday. Nov. 5.

Why Go?: Crossover Movement Arts will perform two dance pieces, "Pressure" and "Iron & Steel," in homage to Atlanta's industrial past. The pieces are inspired by the CSX's Hulsey rail yard and Stein Steel & Supply Co. in Reynoldstown.

Where/When: Elizabeth Street NE & Lake Avenue NE, 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6.

Why Go?: The Inman Park Beer Chase begins with a 5K that takes runners through Historic Inman Park and the Freedom Park PATH. All runners will receive a t-shirt and prizes will be awarded to winners in all the standard race categories. After the race, you’ll have 80 craft beers from which to choose and your purchase gets you a commemorative tasting glass. Proceeds raised go to support the Inman Park Security Patrol, which employs uniformed off-duty Atlanta Police officers who patrol in and around Inman Park.
