Atlanta Beltline has announced great news for Fourth Ward Residents about the plans for the "Gateway" connection. You know what they say "Great things come to those that wait". It's official that the Eastside Trail will be connected to Historic Fourth Ward Park after years of talk. The "Gateway" will grant access to 2.25 mile trail, a lake, 12 acres of greenspace, a playground, and in the summer months the splash pad. For more detailed information please visit Atlanta Beltline Website.
The utility boring has begun at the future "Gateway" connection and planned path. Comcast, Georgia Power, and AT&T has joined forces to prepare the lines for the gateway connection. The utility work will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks and will not have an impact on the trail use. Construction for the actual connection is set to begin soon if the weather permits.
