Human Moms Get in Free at Zoo Atlanta on Sunday

The zoo has some other special surprises in store for Mother's Day.

ATLANTA, GA -- On Sunday, May 8, mothers enjoy free admission with purchase of any regularly-priced child’s or adult’s general admission ticket.

The non-human mothers – from Lun Lun the giant panda to Shirley the warthog to Her Royal Highness The Naked Mole Rat Queen – will find their habitats decked with decorations, special foods and other treats in one of the Zoo’s many showcases of its robust animal enrichment program, in place for all species year-round. Enrichment, which may take the form of toys, novel foods, new sights or sounds, or training activities, is designed to stimulate animals’ natural behaviors while promoting their well-being.

Mother’s Day also brings a celebration of Zoo Atlanta resident “supermom” Madu the orangutan, who turns 33 on May 13. Madu and her youngest adoptee, 1-year-old Keju, will enjoy birthday surprises at 10 a.m. at Orangutan Habitat Two.

The Mother’s Day discount is valid only on Sunday, May 8, 2016, and may not be combined with any other discount or promotion. The offer is valid only at Zoo Atlanta Admissions and is not valid online. Visit zooatlanta.org for a list of animal activity times, or check the Zoo Atlanta map on arrival.
