Patrice Foster, RN BSN has released her first book on Amazon this month. Titled A Guide To Teenage Depression, her work aims to raise awareness about depression causes, facts, signs and symptoms. Known as a silent killer, Foster pleads with parents to never give up on their understanding of teenage depression which she calls a βsilent killerβ.
Some of the symptoms that Foster talks about in her book include: anger outbursts and irritability, decreased energy / fatigue / inability to concentrate, decreased desire to do things that previously gave joy, wayward sleeping patterns, anxiety and its symptoms, extended periods of sadness, and unexplained body aches and pains.
βTeenage depression seems to be a hiding secret no one is talking about,β said Foster. βWe are familiar with the adult depression but not many parents are aware, so awareness is greatly needed.β
