Missing Atlanta High School Student Found Safe

Atlanta police are not revealing how they found 17-year-old Dorothy Harden, but confirmed that she has been located.

A 17-year-old student at Atlanta’s Maynard Jackson High School who had been missing since Thursday has been located safe by police.

Dorothy Harden had last been seen on Thursday leaving her high school. She usually called her mother when she changed buses at MARTA’s Five Points station, but did not do so on Thursday. Her worried mother called police, who began searching for her.

Atlanta police told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that their search for Harden ended on Peyton Road in southwest Atlanta, but did not reveal additional details.

Harden’s mother said that her daughter has plans to attend college and has never run away from home before.
