Monty the Python May Become East Atlanta Village Legend

The crafty reptile even has his own Facebook and Twitter accounts.

ATLANTA, GA — An escaped python may be on his way to becoming an East Atlanta Village legend.

The reptile, who local residents have nicknamed "Monty," was first discovered several weeks ago, according to the AJC, by a woman who found the snake under her porch around 1 am. She snapped a photo of it and posted it to Nextdoor.

Several other people have seen the snake since then. Monty -- who was captured on Wednesday -- has since set up his own Twitter and Facebook account.
