Police Looking for East Atlanta Burglary, Assault Suspect

The man broke into a woman's home, then punched her in the face when she tried to stop him.

Atlanta police are looking for a man they say burglarized an East Point apartment and punched the woman who lived there after she tried to alert authorities.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the unidentified man broke into the apartment at Park Avenue and Sydney Street on Thursday morning. The noise woke up the woman who lived in the apartment, who tried to call 911. When the burglar saw what was happening, he punched the woman in the face and wrestled her to the ground.

Police told the AJC that the man escaped with an iPad, purse, cash, and credit cards.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid to late twenties, who stands between 5’11” and 6’ tall and weighs around 180 lbs. He was last seen wearing basketball shorts, white Adidas shoes, and white t-shirt around his face.
