Report: 13 Principals Retire Or Resign From Atlanta Public Schools
Former principals left district in wake of cheating scandal

Thirteen Atlanta principals, including four from schools in East Atlanta Patch have left the district, the Journal-Constitution reports.
The principals, who either resigned or retired, left the district in thew wake of the cheating scandal embroiling the Atlanta Public Schools, the Dunwoody-based newspaper said.
In all, 41 of the 179 APS personnel linked to the cheating have left the district, the newspaper said.

The principals who have left in East Atlanta Patch include:
- Gwendolyn Benton —
- Willie Davenport — D.H. Stanton Elementary
- Andre Williams —
- Patricia Lavant —
Benton and Lavant had announced their plans to by retiring before the state completed its investigation into cheating at APS.
