Report: DeKalb Juror Survey Listed “Slave” as Occupation Choice

A court spokesperson said the list of occupations to select from is 62 pages long, but was unclear how long "slave" had been an option to choose from.

A new online juror questionnaire in DeKalb County recently offered “slave” as choice of occupation according to news report this week.

WXIA-TV detailed Monday how the DeKalb County Court survey, based upon an internal list that’s been in use for 13 years, went online a month ago.

A court spokesperson told the news outlet that the list of occupations to select from is 62 pages long, but was unclear how long “slave” had been an option to choose from.

After a potential juror stumbled upon the option while filling out the form on Monday, the word was removed.
