Introducing Atlanta’s newest 5k race! Run the Rails is a footrace that follows the Atlanta Streetcar route, providing participants with the option to sign up for a timed 5k event or fun run called the Streetcar Stroll.
Run the Rails is presented by Siemens and produced in conjunction by Central Atlanta Progress, the Atlanta Downtown Improvement District and the City of Atlanta.
The Run Rails 5k and the streetcar Stroll will be a celebration of the soon-to-launch Atlanta Streetcar. This race will give participants a unique way to experience the new transit project while providing a tour of the route. From restaurants and hotels to retail stores, world class attractions, corporate offices and a major University, this event will showcase the variety of destinations that can be reached using the Atlanta Streetcar
When: Saturday, June 21st at 8:00 a.m.
Where: Starting and ending in Woodruff Park, the race runs along the 2.7 mile Atlanta Streetcar route with an extension in Centennial Olympic Park.
Cost: $35 for the 5k Race with “chip" timing, $30 for the Streetcar Stroll fun run
