The Southwest Rink at Park Tavern on Piedmont Park Opens on Thanksgiving Day

The Southwest Rink at Park Tavern, a seasonal ice skating rink located in the heart of Midtown in Piedmont Park, will open just in time for the holidays. Beginning Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2014, through President’s Day, Monday, February 16, 2015, Atlantans and visitors of all ages can once again enjoy unforgettable ice skating experiences including all day skate sessions, Frozen-themed children’s birthday parties, ‘Skate After 8’ for ages 18 and up, special events, and much more – all while taking advantage of Park Tavern’s relaxed atmosphere, expansive food menu, and diverse cocktail, wine, and beer selection. Located in the spacious Garden Tent at Park Tavern, this favorite Intown holiday tradition will once again feature modern amenities for day and night skating including a new covered rink that is 85 feet long and 40 feet wide and comfortably accommodates 200. Skaters will stay warm under a beautiful heated tent with a state-of-the-art sound system; while observers can enjoy the rink and park-side dining, homemade hot chocolate, specialty seasonal cocktails, house-brews, 1/2 price wine bottles every Wednesday, 1/2 off sushi from 10 p.m. to midnight, 1/2 off tacos (excluding Big Eye Tuna) nightly after 8 p.m., holiday decorations, fire pits, and much more. The Southwest Rink at Park Tavern is located at 500 Tenth Street N.E. on the corner of 10th and Monroe in Midtown Atlanta at Piedmont Park. The Southwest Rink at Park Tavern will be open Monday through Friday from 4:30 p.m. to midnight and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight. The rink is open to ages 18 and up only from 8 p.m. to midnight nightly. The ice team resurfaces the ice every 1 1⁄2 hours.
