The St. Regis Atlanta Brings Timeless Holiday Magic to Atlanta

The St. Regis Atlanta, an unparalleled in-town resort located in the elegant enclave of Buckhead, is pleased to invite guests and locals to celebrate the holiday season with its timeless winter events and experiences. Atlanta’s most beloved resort is thrilled to reawaken the Astor Holiday Ice Rink for its sixth annual season. The rink has become a cherished holiday destination for the community and seasonal visitors, offering the unique experience of skating in the magical outdoor setting of the hotel’s 40,000-square-foot Pool Piazza. Protected from the elements by a billowing sheer tent, the rink is charmingly adorned with elegant white lights illuminating skaters as they glide to the soft sounds of festive holiday tunes. The Astor Holiday Rink will be open with extended dates this year, from November 21, 2014 through January 4, 2015.

To celebrate the season’s sweet delights, The St. Regis Atlanta’s acclaimed pastry chef, Michael Craig, will grace the grand lobby entrance with a gingerbread house replica of the hotel. The intricately crafted confectionary masterpiece, embellished with festive holiday sweets and ornaments, will stand at approximately six feet tall, beautifully showcasing the property’s elegantly-appointed structure including the Porte Cochere, Pool Piazza, Grand Terrace, and Juliette Balconies.

Inspiration for the holiday experiences at The St. Regis Atlanta dates back more than a century to the renowned Astor family, founders of The St. Regis, who hosted elaborate events for their illustrious friends, known as “The 400.” These ornate events included a winter holiday soiree featuring an ice skating rink in the grand ballroom of the flagship St. Regis New York.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, The St. Regis Atlanta will offer seasonal favorites like hot cocoa, s’mores and Coca-Cola in holiday-themed bottles in the outdoor area surrounding the Astor Holiday Rink. Visitors can enjoy the treats while sitting next to the Piazza’s cozy outdoor fireplace. The rink will be open to visitors from noon to 9 p.m. on weekdays and from

10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends. Skating sessions will start every hour and be priced at $30 per hour for adults and $18 per hour for children under 16 (exclusive of tax). Reservations are highly encouraged.

The Astor Holiday Rink is also the perfect venue for private ice skating parties or group gatherings. Children’s Skating Parties include one-hour rink admission and skate rentals. Exclusive use of the rink is available for parties of 20 or more, and can be booked on weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. for $40 per child. Bespoke birthday cakes and/or Santa Claus appearances are also available upon request. Group Outings for 20 or more are available for those who want exclusive use of the Astor Holiday Rink to enjoy with friends or to host a spirited office party. Private group experiences are available on weekdays from noon to 9 p.m. for $60 per adult, which includes admission for one hour and complimentary skate rental. There is a $500 food and beverage minimum charge for all ice skating group events.

Visitors at The St. Regis Atlanta are encouraged to take part in the grand tradition of Afternoon Tea Rituals, enjoying the impeccable service of St. Regis Butlers in the elegant and festive holiday atmosphere of Astor Court. The Holiday Tea (November 28 – December 24 daily from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) includes an assortment of hand-selected teas served with handcrafted petite sandwiches and freshly baked pastries. The Holiday Tea is $48 and Children’s Holiday Tea is $24 (does not include a visit from Santa). The beloved Tea with Santa (November 28-30, December 5-7 and 11 - 24; 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; $59 per child) gives little ones the opportunity to enjoy a magical tea ritual complete with a special visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Gastronomic delights will add to the holiday spirit as Executive Chef Joseph Trevino and his team offer spectacular seasonal dining for Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. A bountiful Thanksgiving Buffet in Astor Court will be offered on November 27, served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the festive Christmas Day Buffet will be served from 11: 30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The pricing for both events is $125 per person or $59 per child 12 and under.
