Taylor English's David Hricik Appointed to American Law Institute

TAYLOR ENGLISH’S DAVID HRICIK APPOINTED TO AMERICAN LAW INSTITUTE

ATLANTA, Feb. 3, 2016 – Taylor English Duma LLP announces that David Hricik has been named as a member of the prestigious American Law Institute (ALI). The organization, whose members include prominent judges, lawyers and law professors from across the country, works to clarify, modernize and improve the law. Hricik, an attorney in Taylor English’s Intellectual Property practice and a professor at Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, is the only new ALI member in the January 2016 class from Georgia. The full list of the 61 newly elected members is available here.

Hricik counsels clients in patent infringement suits and complex commercial litigation. He serves as trusted counsel in malpractice and other cases involving ethical issues in patent practice, and has served as an expert for the Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED) at the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, as well as counsel for practitioners accused of wrongdoing by the OED.

Outside of the firm, Hricik is an active member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Section. He has authored two leading treatises on ethical issues in patent practice. Hricik also served as a law clerk for then-Chief Judge Randall Rader at the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Hricik earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and his law degree from Northwestern University School of Law.
