Neighbor in Need and EACA are joining forces to co-host their first joint charity fundraiser," Under the Harvest Moon" is gala will benefit the East Atlanta chapter of Neighbor in Need. The event will take place at the historic Zuber-Jarrell House, 810 Flat Shoals Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30316 on Saturday, October 15, 2016, from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Owners Jennifer Murray and Mark Dobiecki have graciously offered their home and grounds to host this event.

Neighbor in Need is a 503(c) non-profit organization under the East Atlanta Community Association (EACA). The purpose of Neighbor in Need is to help seniors in the East Atlanta area with emergency and necessary repairs to their homes. Since its founding in 2010, 106 repairs have been made in 35 East Atlanta homes, totaling $105,000. The 2017 fundraising goal is to double the operating budget and spend $40,000 on repairs during that year.
Our inaugural fundraiser, ‘Under the Harvest Moon’ - will take place on the grounds of this Neo-classical home the evening of Saturday, October 15. You’re all invited! Come meet new neighbors, contractors who have performed work for us, history buffs, see old friends…

Rain or shine, this inaugural fundraiser will take place. There will be a large tent, live music, silent auction, and a Harvest Moon Photo Booth. Look forward to sampling spectacular small bites from area chefs, paired with celestial libations. Come dressed up in your denim, satin and cowboy-boot best, and dance under the stars to the sweet sounds of Penny Serenade. Meet new neighbors, contractors who have performed work for the organization, history buffs, or see old friends.
General Admission tickets are $50 early, $65 after September 24. VIP tickets are $100 early, $125 after September 24. Tickets are limited. For more information, visit the Neighbor in Need Facebook page.

VIP ticket holders get early entrance to the event at 6:00pm, a private cocktail reception on the grand front porch, and unlimited beverages throughout the evening. In addition, VIP’s get and an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the home led by special docent Douglas Frey which includes access to rarely seen areas of the house.
This 110 year-old, Neoclassical home is the only home in the area listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is being lovingly restored to its former glory, under the supervision of architect Doug Frey. General admission is 7:00pm and includes food, some drinks, (others available for purchase) and a docent led tour. Proceeds from this event will help keep seniors safe in their homes.
Preparations are well underway, but help is still needed. The organizers are looking for a photographer (or two) to help man the photo booth and donations for the silent auction. If you’d like to volunteer, or have ideas for donations, please contact Nancy Carpenter at nancy.carpenter1@gmail.com.
