Volunteers Give Back On Thanksgiving

Blankets of Love celebrates its fifth-annual Thanksgiving Day dinner for the homeless

Blankets of Love volunteers gathered at the footsteps of the Martin Luther King Center to serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless. The fifth-annual event included tunes from DJ Tariq, as well as an assortment of books and clothing donated to homeless Atlantans in the Old Fourth Ward.

Blankets of Love founder Denise Laing created the nonprofit to improve the lives of Atlanta's homeless and less fortunate by providing items necessary to survive on the street. The need continues, and Blankets of Love welcomes donations for its Christmas event. Key items include coats, gym socks, shoes, sweat suits, mens clothing β€” and blankets, of course. To donate or participate in the next event, visit blanketsoflove.org.
