Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- The Cobb Animal Shelter remains closed after a dog was diagnosed with strep zoo, but a number of animals have been medically cleared and will be available for free adoptions on Sunday, Jul. 31. The pop-up adoption event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. outside of the shelter at 1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta. A reopening date for the shelter still has not been determined, said Inger Eberhart of Cobb County. (East Cobb News)
- Deli Goldbergs Fine Foods will be closing its Alpharetta shopping center location in Avalon after close of business on Sunday, Jul. 31. "This closure was a strategic decision based solely on business demands, and all of our other locations continue to thrive," said a representative in a written statement. Six Goldbergs locations remain open in Buckhead, Dunwoody, East Cobb, Toco Hills, and the Battery Atlanta, as well as two in Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
