Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:
- The Sterling Estates senior residential facility is proposing the construction of two new cottage buildings. Tomorrow (Tuesday, Jun. 21), employees with the Lower Roswell Road facility will face the Cobb Board of Commissioners to request a site plan change. The request from Sterling is currently on the commission's consent agenda, meaning there is no known opposition to it. (East Cobb News)
- This year marks the first time the Cobb County government is observing Juneteenth. Last year, county commissioners voted to observe the day, effective for Juneteenth 2022. Because this year's holiday fell on a weekend, all offices — including courts and library branches — will be closed today (Monday, Jun. 20). (East Cobb News)
- Cobb County District Three Commissioner JoAnn K. Birrell was featured on the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast. In the latest episode, Birell discusses the county is doing well and what it could improve on — as well as whether she will share her opinion on the current East Cobb Cityhood movement.
