Chamberlain Hrdlicka Boosts Tax Controversy & Litigation Practice with Addition of Brian J. Dunkel

Chamberlain Hrdlicka adds Brian J. Dunkel to its Atlanta office.

ATLANTA, June 06, 2017 – Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry announces the addition of Brian J. Dunkel as an Atlanta-based associate in the firm’s Tax Controversy & Litigation practice. Dunkel brings nine years of tax experience of which more than five were spent working in-house at national accounting firms.

Dunkel focuses his practice on international tax controversy and litigation, representing individual and corporate taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service during all phases of the tax controversy and litigation process. In addition, he counsels clients on international tax matters, including outbound planning for U.S.-based clients, inbound planning for foreign clients, cross-border business support and counsel, and resolving tax controversies involving international issues.

Dunkel previously gained valuable experience at multiple national accounting firms, including EY, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers. In these roles, he advised clients on both the procedural and substantive rules of U.S. international taxation of inbound and outbound transactions, international financing structures, multinational reorganizations, public offerings, withholding, reporting and compliance. Additionally, Dunkel focused on inbound taxation and cross-border payment regimes, including treaty interpretation and the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).

Dunkel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, his law degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his master’s in taxation from Georgetown University School of Law.
