Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- Cobb Superior Court Chief Judge Robert Leonard was re-elected with 67.8 percent of the vote in last week's judicial contest. In another Superior Court race, Judge Sonja Brown and Judge James Luttrell will have a runoff on Jun. 21 to see who will succeed retiring Judge Robert Flournoy. Recent retirements have opened up two additional Superior Court posts. (East Cobb News)
- Preston Lagason of Rocky Mount, Ainsley Rowe of Tritt, and Olivia James of Acworth received the Silver Pen Award from the Kiwanis Club of Marietta Golden K. The students wrote about how COVID-19 affected them, their families, and school. The organization noted that the essays demonstrated that the kids came through COVID with hope and determination. - At least six former workers at Cobb County Baptist churches appeared on a secret list of sexual abusers kept by the Southern Baptist Convention. The convention released the list of hundreds of ministers and church employees last week as a result of a third-party review that found the convention had covered up systematic abuse for years. The six Cobb men were all convicted of their charges. (Yahoo News)

- The Atlanta Koi Club will hold its annual "Pond & Garden Tour" at eight homes in the East Cobb and Marietta area this Sunday. The tours, that display the many varieties of koi and their ponds, will take place rain or shine from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (East Cobb News)
- Food Truck Friday will take place on Jun. 3 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Auto Accident Attorneys Group. Admission is free. (East Cobb News)
