Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- East Cobb's Mt. Bethel Church and the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church are allegedly close to coming to a legal settlement. The dispute centers around the conference claiming ownership of the church's property and assets. The church countersued to accelerate the vote to disaffiliate with the conference. The details of the proposed settlement have not been released as of Friday evening. (East Cobb News)
- Republican voting in Cobb County is much higher than originally projected. 4,268 Republicans took a Republican primary ballot in the first three days of early voting. 2,510 Democrats took Democrat ballots during the same time frame. - The East Cobb Cityhood Town Hall is on Monday, May 9 at the Olde Towne Athletic Club on Olde Town Parkway. The meeting will be led by the Committee for East Cobb Cityhood to discuss the cityhood referendum. Attendance for the town hall will be capped at 300 people residing within the proposed city limits of the referendum. (East Cobb News)
