🌱 Cityhood Referendum Defeated + Valedictorians And Salutatorians

Hi all. I'm back in your inbox this morning with the most important things happening in town these days. Here's the lowdown.
First, today's weather:
Rain and a thunderstorm. High: 72 Low: 63.
Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:
- As of 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning election results revealed that the East Cobb Cityhood referendum was defeated by a 73.4-26.6 percent margin. The unofficial voting totals revealed that residents cast 16,289 votes for NO and 5,900 votes for YES. (East Cobb News)
- The Cobb County School District announced the Class of 2022 valedictorians and salutatorians, also noting that students from East Cobb schools had some of the highest grade-point averages in the county. Walton High School seniors, Kunling Tong, valedictorian, and Daniel Liu, salutatorian, had grade-point averages above 4.8. Wheeler valedictorian, Maxwell Jiang, also had a GPA of 4.8. - Fifty-one-year-old Jason Williams of Woodstock was killed in a motorcycle accident in Northeast Cobb on Saturday. Williams's motorcycle crashed with 75-year-old Steve Fold's 2004 Sprinter 2500 van on Alabama Road (Highway 92). Cobb Police Sgt. Wayne Delk said that Williams was ejected from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. (East Cobb News)
