Here are the top three stories today in East Cobb:
- Today, Cobb Animal Services will be holding a pet Adopt-A-Thon. During the one-day-only event, adoptions for featured pets are free — no appointment necessary. The Summer Adopt-A-Thon takes place today, Jul. 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Cobb Animal Services, located at 1060 Al Bishop Dr. in nearby Marietta. (East Cobb News)
- The Cobb County Public Library is hosting an event for high school students and parents. The event, Financial Aid Readiness with Marcus Hilliard of Georgia Student Fiance Commission, will take place on Jul. 23 at West Cobb Regional Library at 2:00 p.m. It will focus on submitting a FAFSA, Georgia's HOPE Program, and the best practices to pay for postsecondary education. - The Cobb & Douglas Department of Public Health has compiled a list of Cobb food scores for the week of Jul. 11.
