🌱 Cobb Board Adopts $1.2B Budget + Students Lobby For New Dress Code

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in East Cobb.

Hello there, East Cobb! I'm here in your inbox this warm morning to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on around town.

First, today's weather:

Partly sunny and warm. High: 91 Low: 73.

Here are the top three stories in East Cobb today:

  1. The Cobb Board of Commissioners adopted a $1.2 billion fiscal year 2023 budget Tuesday night in a vote that was split along party lines. The new budget expands the size of the county government, maintains the general fund millage rate and other millage rates, provides substantial employee pay raises, and creates 147 new jobs. The board's three Democrats voted to adopt the budget. (East Cobb News)
  2. A group of students from East Cobb Middle School encouraged Principal Leetonia Young to add leggings to the list of approved clothing and she did. It all started when the students came up with the idea of having a leggings day, a day when students were allowed to wear leggings with a long top to cover their buttocks. Principal Young was so impressed with the student's presentation that she decided to add it to their dress code. (WSB Atlanta)
  3. See who sold and bought the following residential real estate properties in East Cobb between Jul. 5 and 8. The deeds were filed with the Cobb Superior Court Clerk's Office Real Estate Department. (East Cobb News)
