The two men are accused of taking the wiring from street lights on I-75 near Delk Road months ago, but there isn’t enough money in the budget to repair or replace the lights. WSB-TV says that repairing the unlit lamps would cost Marietta Power and Water $900,000, money the company doesn’t have. Replacing the lights would cost three times as much.

The company is seeking a grant from the Atlanta Regional Commission, but tells WSB-TV that the money may not arrive for some time.
