Cobb County Plans 'Citizens Public Safety Academy'

The Cobb County Department of Public Safety is announcing its fall session of the “Citizens Public Safety Academy” scheduled to start on September 6, 2016.

The 14 week program will be held in the evenings at the Cobb County DPS Training Center. The program provides an opportunity for Cobb County citizens to gain an insider’s look at the departments that comprise the Cobb County Department of Public Safety: Fire and Emergency Services, Police Department, the Animal Control Unit, and the Emergency Communications Center. Personnel from each department will not only speak about their role in the organization, but in some cases, demonstrate some of the myriad of tasks that are performed for the safety of our citizens or those who traverse Cobb County on a daily basis.

Participants must be at least 21 years of age; and either live in or work for the Cobb County Government or Cobb County School System.

There is a requirement of an application (due date August 26, 2016) and background check that must be completed by all who wish to attend.
