Cobb County Schools Makes Inclement Weather Decision
Nasty weather has been predicted for the week ahead, and the school district has decided to take action well in advance.

Cobb County students will get an extra day off due to the looming threat of inclement weather.
According to the Cobb County School District’s website, school will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16 due to the possibility of unsafe road conditions. The district made the decision on Saturday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for all of north Georgia with up to 2 inches of snow and sleet possible in the northern suburbs by Monday.

The storm watch is in effect from late Sunday night through Tuesday evening and includes Cobb County.
The weather service said the weather system that is expected to bring the wintry weather is still developing, possibly affecting the timing, precipitation type and accumulation.

“A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. Now is the time to prepare for this winter storm,” the weather service said.
