Cobb County’s large veteran population may soon have its very own monument.

According to The Marietta Daily Journal, a group of Marietta veterans formed a committee to raise funds for and oversee the construction of the monument, which would be erected outside the Marietta Veterans Field Service Office, which opened in October of last year. The MDJ reports that the statue is slated to cost around $1.4 million.
The memorial will feature a a walking path lined with five 24-foot columns, each topped with a bald eagle standing on a globe. The five pillars will represent the five branches of the United States Armed Forces.
