Cobb DA's Office To Host Free Job Fair And Resource Expo Feb. 29

The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Riverside Epicenter in Austell.

COBB COUNTY, GA—Cobb District Attorney Joyette M. Holmes announced Thursday that more than two dozen prospective employers will be accepting applications at the Job Fair and Resource Expo, part of Project Restore 360, on Feb. 29.

The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 29 at the Riverside Epicenter which is located at 135 Riverside Parkway in Austell. The free event is open to all.

Michael Murphy, BOC Chairman Michael Boyce’s Assistant for Special Projects, is coordinating the job fair and expo portion of the event.

“Both the job opportunity and housing markets are at a prime juncture for our residents to take full advantage of them at this first-of-its-kind event in Cobb County,” Murphy said. “We are looking forward to a large turnout for this Expo. It will allow people to feel good about themselves and what 2020 could have in store for them. Hope makes such a difference in our future.”

Amazon, Omni Hotel at the Battery, UPS, Epic Roofing, and MAK Construction are among employers scheduled to attend the event. Others include Peachtree Tents and Events, Peoplelink Staffing, Novus Solutions and Swissport Cargo Services.

Attendees can also learn about first-time homebuyer programs from several local banks, financial literacy and career placement assistance, as well as take advantage of free mammograms and other health screenings.

The offices of District Attorney Holmes and Solicitor General Barry Morgan are sponsoring a record restriction event to coincide with the job fair, but the record restriction portion is at capacity. No on-site applications for record restriction will be accepted.

Other sponsors of the event include Cobb Chairman Michael Boyce, Cobb County Government, CobbWorks, Riverside Epicenter and Word of Faith Family Cathedral.
