Cobb Elections Finalizes Polling Changes For March Primary

COBB COUNTY, GA—More than 35 polling places have changed locations since the last election, county officials said. Cobb County Elections Director Janine Eveler is now urging voters to act to make sure they know where to vote in the upcoming primary election.

“Most of these changes are happening because we need to move polling places out of schools,” Eveler said. “Cobb Elections is increasingly concerned about new security measures possibly preventing voter access to school facilities, so our priority has been to find other places to host polling places.”

Three other changes were made to split larger precincts in half to avoid long lines at those polling places, county officials said. Several other precincts were changed because the polling locations were no longer available.

Election Precinct Changes

All voters will be sent a new precinct card and those affected by the latest changes will also receive a letter. Eveler urges every voter to verify their assigned precinct and polling place prior to voting. Voters can check their registration, update their address, view their precinct and polling location, see early voting options, and view sample ballots by logging into www.mvp.sos.ga.gov. This site can also be used by new voters wishing to register.

Feb. 24 is the deadline to register to vote or to change your address prior to Georgia’s March 24, 2020 U.S. presidential primary.
