Cobb Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Girl

A 39-year-old Marietta man is in the Cobb County jail on Friday after police say he sexually assaulted a juvenile girl at an apartment complex earlier this week.

According to police, a mother at the Caswyck Trail Apartments in Marietta came upon Alex Gilberto Argueta sexually assaulting her underage daughter just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday. The mother allegedly confronted Argueta, and he fled the area on foot.
Police began searching for Argueta, and he was arrested on Thursday. Cobb County jail records indicate he was arrested at 9 a.m. Argueta faces charges of aggravated assault, rape, and false imprisonment. He is also being held for Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
